OAuth Sign-In
CleverThis supports signing in with Google and GitHub in addition to email and password. OAuth sign-in is faster (no password to remember) and inherits the security of your Google or GitHub account, including any two-factor authentication you have set up there.
When you sign in with OAuth for the first time, CleverThis creates a new account linked to your OAuth provider and email address. If an account already exists with the same email address (e.g. you previously signed up with email/password), CleverThis automatically links the OAuth identity to your existing account. Subsequent sign-ins with either method reach the same account.
Sign in with Google
- Navigate to the CleverThis sign-in page.
- Click Continue with Google.
- Select or enter your Google account.
- Grant CleverThis the requested permissions (email address and basic profile).
- You are redirected to the CleverThis Dashboard.
Sign in with GitHub
- Navigate to the CleverThis sign-in page.
- Click Continue with GitHub.
- If not already signed in to GitHub, enter your credentials.
- Click Authorize to grant CleverThis access to your public profile and email.
- You are redirected to the CleverThis Dashboard.
Disconnecting an OAuth provider
You can disconnect a linked OAuth provider from Settings → Security (this feature is being added). If you disconnect a provider that is your only sign-in method, you must set a password first.
Disconnecting individual OAuth providers and linking additional providers to an existing account are being added to the Security settings page.
